What is your basic business philosophy? To teach students God’s Truth and equip them with the tools for a lifetime of learning.
 
What is your proudest business achievement? At Oakland High School we were able to change the culture and raised the graduation rate to a level to get the school off the “high priority” list with the state.
 
What led you to Murfreesboro? I have lived here all my life and have never had the desire to leave. I can’t imagine living any other place.
 
What is your educational background? Attended Crichlow and Hobgood Elementary schools, and Murfreesboro Central High School. Attended Middle Tennessee State University and graduated with a bachelor of science degree, and master’s of education degree, and an educational specialist degree.
 
Where are you originally from? Murfreesboro
 
What do you do for fun? Spend time with my family and attempt to play golf.
 
Tell us about your family: I have a wonderful wife, Joan, who is also my best friend. I have two wonderful grown children, Marianne Faulk, who is a teacher at Scales Elementary School, and Shane, who is a deputy sheriff with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department. Have two grandkids, Carter and Braden Faulk.
 
Who was your mentor? Jesus Christ. My father in dealing with bumps in the road and athletics, my mother in compassion and sacrifice, my brothers and sister in allowing me to be a brother. Pastor Allen Jackson and Bro. Eddie Smotherman in mentoring me in furthering my Christian walk. Dr. Martin McCullough is mentoring me in the decision to become an educator. Coach Ray Hughes in mentoring me in how to coach since he was the best I ever saw. And especially Joan, who has mentored me in life, love and commitment and the value of accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
