Details about the 1982 murder of Lynn Orrand, which was solved in 2007, will be featured on “Stolen Voices, Buried Secrets” at 6 p.m. tomorrow on the Investigation Discovery channel.

Entitled “Hunting Season,” the show highlights the Orrand murder case and circumstances leading up to his death when he was shot while hunting on his in-laws’ property Jan. 16, 1982, on Richland-Richardson Road off Halls Hill Pike.

The show is narrated by an actor to depict Orrand’s description of the murder.

In 2007, Rutherford County Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Mark Di Nardo and Detective Jim Tramel reopened the investigation that led to the arrest of Orrand’s brother-in-law Kevin Patterson, Orrand’s widow, Candance Bush, and her second husband, Gary Bush, on first-degree murder charges.

During his plea on a second-degree murder charge, Patterson admitted killing Orrand in exchange for his sister and Gary Bush paying him $5,000 and a place for him, his new wife and infant daughter to live. However, he never received the money and only lived with his sister for a few weeks.

A jury convicted the Bushes of first-degree murder as well.

They are all serving life sentences.
