Burglars strike home, truck

Someone stole about $4,400 worth of personal property Friday from a Greenland Drive apartment near MTSU, a Murfreesboro Police officer reported.

Victim Christopher Barrett reported burglars stole a television, Blue Ray DVD, DVD movies, a laptop computer, Play Station 3 and Nexflix disc from his apartment, Officer Dave Norton reported.

Neighbors didn’t hear or see anyone nearby.

In another burglary, victim Michael Hillard Jr. of White Oak Lane reported burglars stole more than $35,000 worth of property from his truck Friday.

The suspect broke the passenger side window and apparently caused injury because of blood on the door.

Property stolen included a Navigation/CD/DVD with a seven-inch screen, two rifles, a silver Rolex watch with diamonds around the hand and face valued at $35,000, a Verizon telephone and a concrete gun.

In another case, vandals damaged Christmas lights at Mary Hayes’ home Saturday on Princeton Lane, Officer Angela Alexander reported.

Vandals pulled off the Christmas lights, broke spotlights and knocked over a concrete statute.

Damage was set at $600.
