Burglars steal guitars, jewelry on Jones Lane

Instruments and jewelry were among the $18,700 worth of property stolen during a home burglary Friday, a sheriff’s deputy reported.

Burglars stole three guitars and $7,500 worth of jewelry from Jared Hasewinkle’s home on Jones Lane, Deputy David Ashburn reported. Other items stolen included a computer monitor, two laptop computers, a digital camera, television, shotgun, toolbox with tools, gold ring, pearl ring, gold chain and comforter.

The burglar opened a box of chocolates, the deputy reported.

A witness saw someone in a white Chevrolet truck with large tires and a red 4x4 painted on the vehicle.

Also, thieves stole from neighbor Chris Paradise of Jones Lane two sets of tires with rims and a folding tailgate. Loss was set at $2,500.
