Burglars steal from homes, Victoria's Secret

Burglars stole weapons, jewelry and fishing equipment during break-ins this weekend throughout the county, sheriff’s deputies reported.

Someone stole almost $6,000 worth of property from a home under construction owned by Mike Carey of Rocky Glade Road. Items stolen included a dirt bike, 46-inch television, laptop computer and a rifle.

Burglars removed $3,000 of jewelry and firearms from Sybil Webb's residence at Allisona Road in Eagleville, Deputy Mark Barnes reported. Missing items included $100 cash, a set of wedding bands, a diamond wedding band, rifle, shotgun and revolver.

Chasity Helms of Scenic Drive, who was charged with tampering with her husband’s mashed potatoes last week, accused a roommate of stealing a camcorder, platinum ring and a pendant from her home, Deputy Mike Hoekstra reported.

Wilma Miller of Phillip Faith Chapel Road told Cpl. Michael Moody someone stole about $2,000 worth of property from her home. Missing items included a Play Station 3, John Madden football game, 10 to 12 antique watches and a quartz watch with the name “Wilma.”

In another case, Deputy Anthony Terranova reported burglars stole about $3,300 worth of items from Kevin Meeks of Peebles Drive. Missing property included reels, rods, crossbow, arrows, worms, bibs, bait and a waterproof jacket.

In an unrelated case, Murfreesboro Police Officer Skye Wortman reported thieves stole $3,500 worth of bras and $605 of panties from Victoria’s Secret store at Stones River Mall.

Security officers have been hired to prevent the theft of merchandise.
