Burglars steal four handguns during break-ins

Burglars stole a Metro Nashville Police officer’s off-duty handgun and three other handguns during break-ins this week, reported sheriff’s deputies and Murfreesboro Police.

Metro Officer Phillip Klarer reported his loaded Glock handgun and holster were stolen from his vehicle, Deputy Christopher Reed reported. Value was estimated at $610.

In another case, victim Michael Lind of Fox Hollow Road near Christiana reported burglars stole a Smith & Wesson .357-caliber handgun and a Beretta .25-caliber semi-automatic handgun from his home, Deputy Joshua Anderson reported. Loss was set at $550.

Murfreesboro Police Officer Daniel Parkhurst reported burglars stole a .38-caliber handgun with holster from Rags to Riches store on North Front Street. Value was set at $400.

Owner Jack McCollum reported burglars also stole about $700 worth of property, including two televisions, an antique cash register with $30 cash and 18-speed bicycle.
