Burglars broke into Lascassas Drug Store overnight Wednesday, stealing a large amount of schedule narcotics, a sheriff’s detective said.
Employees discovered burglars had entered the state Route 96 East (Lascassas Highway) store when they arrived at work Thursday, Deputy Jay Jones reported.
Detective Todd Sparks asked people who might have information about the burglary to call him at 904-3047 or Detective Scott Tilman at 904-3041.
In another case, thieves stole about $4,000 worth of items from a home while a family was on vacation, Deputy Robert Blevins reported.
Items missing included miscellaneous rings and watches valued at $1,000, $1,500 cash, $500 worth of watches, a camcorder, two PlayStations and a Jack Daniels box set collectible valued at $500.
A possible suspect was identified. Detective Troy Hooker is investigating.
