I'm constantly amazed at the dollar amount of items stolen out of cars around here. Who keeps a $5,000+ diamond ring in a car?!?

HuskyLover, what I want to know is were the items taken from the car in plain view as in just sitting inside a locked car? I mean, come on, at least make it difficult for the criminal and lock the stuff in the trunk! Or, maybe the victim waited until they got out of the car to put the stuff in the trunk and the thief saw them put it in there. Still wrong! If you're gonna stow something in the car put it in the trunk BEFORE you arrive at your destination! That way no one knows it is in there.

I hope they catch the crook who stole these items, or is it a crook who claims he had a $5400 diamond ring in his car. Last time I checked, 3 karats go for upwards of $20,000.
