Burglars steal almost $10,000 worth of property

Burglars stole almost $10,000 worth of property Wednesday, ranging from tools to air conditioning units at a new home, sheriff’s deputies reported.

An air conditioning unit was stolen from a house under construction on Murwood Lane, Deputy Dennis Ward reported. Owner George Trotter of Haney Lane estimated value at $4,500.

In another case, Deputy Nathan Carter reported burglars stole about $2,800 worth of property from Christopher Rankin of Elm Street in Eagleville. Items taken included a Craftsman tool set and tools, three cases of compact discs, a drill and a portable DVD player.

Deputy Mike Hoekstra reported someone stole a an IBM Think Pad computer owned by the Rutherford County schools. It was valued at $1,000.

Deputy Michael Romans reported thieves stole two rods and two reels from Mike Anderson of Lascassas Pike when the equipment was stored in his boat. Loss was estimated at $1,870.
