Burglars steal almost $10,000 in items from homes

Burglars escaped with almost $10,000 in property after breaking into three homes Tuesday throughout the county, sheriff’s deputies reported Wednesday.

Someone stole a size 8 ½-karat diamond ring owned by Belinda Oldham of Christian, Deputy Chris Webb reported. Value was set at $1,000.

Burglars broke into David M. Justice’s home on Kingwood Lane off Franklin Highway where they removed about $5,300 worth of items, Cpl. Scot Appleton reported. Stolen property included a safe, man’s wedding band, class ring from People Baptist Academy, triple diamond necklace, gold necklace, .38-caliber revolver, .22-caliber pistol, 12-gauge shotgun, emerald necklace, GPS, television and two iPods.

Someone removed $2,850 worth of property from Perry A. Patterson’s home on Central Valley Road, Cpl. Brian Wright reported. Stolen items included a pump shotgun, antique diamond gold ring, Kappa Delta sorority pin and bedroom furniture.

People who have information about the burglaries are asked to call the sheriff’s office at 898-7770.
