Burglars steal $89,000 cash from home

Burglars stole about $85,000 cash from the owners of a restaurant when the money was stored at their home Saturday in Murfreesboro, police reported.

The cash along with $2,000 worth of expensive purses and a $5,000 Rolex Watch were stolen from Gen and Na Lin of Fairfax Drive, Officer Joe Zeltner reported.

He owns China Star restaurant.

In an unrelated case, Officer Matthew Garrett reported burglars stole 59 cellular telephones valued at $19,720 from the Verizon Wireless store on North Thompson Lane.

Burglars also struck in Eagleville, stealing $3,025 worth of tools from victim William D. Rader of Highway 99.

Missing tools included power saws, wrenches, an extension cord, Craftsman toolbox and $1,500 worth of hand tools.

They are not the first Chinese restaurant owners to have their house broken into. China Garden's owners did as well not too long ago.

Do these people not believe in banks? Maybe there is a reason they do no use banks. Not making deposits to a bank may be a way of hiding something or making the money untraceable. Maybe from the IRS.

It's hard for me to imagine how someone could have that much cash in there home. These restaurant owners have more going on than meets the eye. diddlede, I am with you. I bet the IRS doesn't know about all of that $85K. Probably shrinkage from the restaurant so that they avoid taxes.
