Burglars stole more about $7,000 worth of jewelry and property and vandalized a home while the family was on vacation, a sheriff’s deputy reported.
About $6,000 worth of jewelry was missing from Brandy L. Dodson’s jewelry box at her Rucker Road home, Deputy Will Pinson reported. Missing jewelry included a gold and diamond bracelet, gold ring with diamonds, gold ring with diamonds and rubies, three-diamond pendant, gold pendant with diamond and ruby and three pairs of diamond rings,
A television and comforter were also stolen, he reported.
When a friend checked on the home, she found a dark red substance on the floor and called the sheriff’s office. Pinson reported the substance appeared to be barbecue sauce poured throughout the home.
“The entire downstairs of the residence, with the exception of the foyer, was in a state of disarray,” Pinson reported.
Frozen meat was removed from the freezer and discarded on the floor, the deputy reported. Photographs were ripped. Condiments were poured on the bed and clothes scattered throughout the bedroom.
Detectives are investigating.
