Burglars break into 10 vehicles overnight

One white man believed driving a Nissan Sentra or Toyota Corolla might be responsible for stealing about $2,000 in items from vehicles Monday night or Tuesday morning in the Southridge subdivision, sheriff’s deputies reported.

A witness saw a man in a small compact car running toward the tree line early Tuesday in the subdivision off Barfield-Crescent Road, Deputy Michael Romans reported. Romans and Sgt. Derek Oeser searched the tree line for evidence but didn’t find anything.

Burglars broke into about 10 cars in the subdivision along with three other vehicles throughout the county with a loss of about $3,000, deputies reported.

Victims and items taken include:

• Trevor Hicks of Snead Drive, a diamond and emerald gold ring and $5 change.

• Darrell Manus of Southridge Boulevard, $15 cash and $5 in coins.

• Alex Robinson of Hogan Drive, two global positioning systems, cash and change.

• Tori Vinson of Hogan Drive, two global positioning systems, notebooks and scotch tape.

• Cindy Long of Couples Court, $1.50 in change.

• Mike Shrader of Couples Court, GPS, credit cards and a wallet.

• Mark Wakefield of Couples Court, driver’s license, change purse, children’s clothing, Social Security card.

• Kevin Rush of Couples Court, GPS, DVD player and level.

Other victims included:

• Jessica Boland when visiting on North Lane in Eagleville, $40, a Social Security card, prescription card and medical insurance card.

• So Sysonexay of Sterling Street, a $1,300 monitor of a TV/DVD receiver.

• A Comcast truck parked on Fleming Farms Drive, $1,500 signal meter and a $250 drill.
