Burglar surprises sleeping victim

One resident awoke to discover a burglar inside his apartment Saturday on South Rutherford Boulevard, Murfreesboro Police reported.

Victim Tommy Randall Harville spoke to the suspect who ran out the back door, Officer Vywathana Phothirath reported.

Items stolen from his nightstand included his driver’s license, wallet, $100 Wal-Mart card, cellular telephone, credit cards and watch, the officer reported.

Burglars stole a substantial amount of weapons and other property worth more than $7,000 from victim Wilson Coleman during a home burglary Friday on Donnell Street, Officer Matthew Roe reported.

Items stolen from included a 9mm handgun, .38-caliber handgun, 12-gauge shotgun and a 410-bolt action. Other items missing included a guitar, skill saw, amp, $400 cash, about $4,000 worth of jewelry and a mower.

In an unrelated case, Officer Sean Garrison reported burglars stole more than $1,700 worth of property from a car owned by Anthony Michael of Mt. Juliet when parked Friday on Southeast Broad Street.

Property taken included two cellular telephones, a black and yellow BellSouth bag with various satellite tools, a drill and compact disc player.

In another case, Officer Marja Atchley reported burglars stole more than $1,000 worth of items from victim Stephanie Potts room Sunday on North Rutherford Boulevard. Items missing included an Apple iMac computer, Apple laptop computer, TV, DVD/VCR combination player, 30 DVDs, a poker set and $300 cash.
