Traffic is backing up on Northwest Broad Street near Clark Boulevard this afternoon as crews make repairs to the pavement in the turning lanes, Murfreesboro’s traffic engineer said.
Crews will work in the area between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. today through Friday. Please seek an alternate route.
Traffic is currently down to one lane northbound as crews work in the southeast corner of the intersection.
City planners also studied the need for the traffic signal at Quality Drive and Northwest Broad Street and found the light isn’t needed, said Ram Balachandran, city traffic engineer.
The light was originally place there to regulate traffic flow from the General Electric plant, but the plant closed in 2006.
“We took it down today because it was not warranted anymore since the plant closed,” Balachandran said. |
