Brentz listed as No. 2 of Top 100 by Baseball Blog

Junior Bryce Brentz has been named No. 2 on the Top-100 Players list as released by the College Baseball Blog.

The College Baseball Blog recognized players from around the country giving the Knoxville, Tenn., native one of the top spots after his impressive two seasons at Middle Tennessee.

Entering his third season with the Blue Raiders, Brentz has a career batting average of .400 with 176 hits, 46 home runs and 141 RBI with a slugging percentage of .807.

He has also performed well on the mound posting a 6-3 record with a 3.99 ERA and 86 strikeouts in 117.1 innings of work.

After leading the nation in four statistical categories Brentz received consensus All-America honors and has received two Preseason All-America honors headed into the 2010 season.

Brentz spent the summer playing for the USA National Team becoming the second Blue Raider since 2001 to play for his country. Keith Law of ESPN.com considered Brentz the best position player on the 2009 USA Collegiate National Team.
