Boro to allow churches sale of Christmas trees

MICHELLE WILLARD, Post Staff Writer

Murfreesboro City Council looks to rewrite zoning regulations for buildings used for gatherings.

The regulations, which only pertained to churches before, will be extended to include schools, public buildings, clubs and recreational areas.

The new regulations will allow for the sale of Christmas trees during the appropriate season, as well as require limitations to on-site lighting from parking lots and athletic fields. The new regulations would limit the amount of light pollution that spills into neighboring residential areas.

Three copies of the proposed Ordinance are on file with the City Recorder for review by the public and available for viewing here.
