The Boro Blues Fest returns Saturday, Sept. 24 to Patterson Park Community Center.
The event features a variety of local and national artists in an outdoor setting.
Nashville’s acknowledged “Queen of the Blues” Marion James is this year’s headliner.
Things kick off at 2:30 p.m. with The Satin Mockingbirds and Friends. They will be followed by: • Fire House Band • Stones River Pilots • Real Deal • CJ Vaughn • Markey (with special guest, the award-winning James “Nick” Nixon) • Forest Gras Band
It all wraps up with Marion James taking the stage at 9:30 p.m.
The ‘Boro Blues Fest originated fall of 2005. Its mission is to promote Blues education, preserve Blues history, cultivate young Blues musicians, showcase local Blues artists, and celebrate the Blues legacy as a valued art form.
The mission is realized by providing opportunities for interaction and access among established and novice performers.
