The new Rutherford County Chapter of the Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce recently participated in a non-partisan voter registration drive to register new voters before the mail-in deadline for the State Primary and County General Election.

The organization employed a word of mouth strategy to contact local Hispanic business owners and employees who are eligible to vote, as well as those who have recently become naturalized citizens.

Registration was held at España located at 211 W. Main St. next to the Square in Murfreesboro. Beto Mendoza, the owner of España, is a member of the growing chapter which convenes in the club's VIP lounge on Tuesday evenings.

Leading members were present including Director Cameron Parrish, Carolina Rivas, Luis Haro of Sweet Spot Bakery and Loraine Segovia-Paz, founder of La Noticia Newspaper in Nashville.

Those interested in participating in future voter registration drives please call the NAHCC at 615-216-5737 or visit  www.nashvillehispanicchamber.com.
