Linebaugh Public Library will play host to local authors, Larry Matthew and Bob Biddix, from 1-4 p.m. Tuesday.

They will be selling and signing copies of their book, "Snail Shell Cave," that was published by The National Speleological Society in August 2012.

The authors tell the story in word and picture of Snail Shell Cave, part of a vast, underground drainage system in Rutherford County that begins near Eagleville and flows northeast for 13 miles to emerge as a huge spring on the bank of the West Fork of the Stones River.

Biddix has been an active caver since 1987 and property manager of Snail Shell Cave for the Southeastern Cave Conservancy since 2002. His interest in all things caves and caving led him to produce high quality photos of underground worlds for others to see and enjoy. He co-authored the book "Snail Shell Cave" in hopes of preserving the discovery and exploration efforts of this multi-mile cave system, an exploration that continues to this day.

The authors will be available to meet visitors and sign copies of their book during the event. The cost of the book is $31. No credit cards accepted. Cash or check only. They will be near the main entrance of the library.

Linebaugh Public Library is located at 105 W. Vine St. in Murfreesboro.
