The Murfreesboro Police Department received a report of a bomb at a home on the 100 block of South Bilbro Avenue around 2 o'clock Monday afternoon.

According to officials at the scene, a woman called into the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office and reported a man at the residence had bomb-making materials in his house and had threatened to blow her up.

As of 3:30 p.m., Murfreesboro detectives and police were still searching the house.

Shortly after arriving on scene, police officers evacuated homes within a block of the house. They also have determined school can continue as normal at Central Magnet School, which is located about a block from the scene.

"City police have told the school they have everything under control and the school can operate as normal," Rutherford County Schools spokesman James Evans said.

More information will be released as it becomes available.
