Law enforcement officials are investigating the death of an unidentified man who was found Friday at an abandoned home in the 700 block of Southeast Broad Street in Murfreesboro.

“Around 4 p.m. today, a report of a deceased body was reported,” said Kyle Evans, public information officer for the Murfreesboro Police Department. “The deceased was found at 709 S.E. Broad St., which is an empty house.”

Evans said detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division also responded to the scene to begin an unattended death investigation.

“The cause and manner of death are under investigation,” he said. “The male subject has not been identified.”
