Blue Restaurant serves up style

If you haven’t been to Blue Restaurant and Bar, the new restaurant in the Jackson Heights Plaza, located at 810 NW Broad St., be sure make it your next date night spot.

This is a unique style of restaurant for Murfreesboro that we really have not seen before.

The three main ingredients that make this place work are made-from-scratch, real food, a relaxing atmosphere filled with friendly staff, and local owners with plenty of successful restaurant experience.

The food is simple, but the quality of the food and the preparation is done right.

The owners are always looking for new and unique menu items that will set them apart.

They take pride in making all of their sauces from scratch, even the Sawmill Peppered Gravy for the Chicken a la “Blue,” as well as choosing the freshest Seafood each day for dishes including the Peppercorn Encrusted Tuna Steak.

As much as I love a good steak or seafood dinner, my favorite time to go to Blue is for Sunday Brunch.

There is a variety of sweet and savory brunch menu items such as the “Cranberry Walnut French Toast” and my personal favorite the “Blue” Benedict.

I actually went on a day where they were featuring the Blue Benedict with Lamb, and it was absolutely to die for.

There is something about a good homemade hollandaise that gets me every time – probably the butter.

However, this particular hollandaise was covering tender medallions of perfectly seasoned lamb and poached eggs on top of a grilled English muffin.

Even the fruit that came with my meal was very fresh and the perfect complement to the richness of the Lamb Benedict.

Since I needed to get the whole experience, I also tried the Amaretto Cheesecake.

It is a smooth and velvety cheesecake with an amaretto drizzle on top that is a delightful ending to any meal.

They also have a Chocolate Cake on the menu that you will just have to close your eyes and enjoy.

It’s rich, fudgy, and everything a Chocolate lover dreams about.

“Blue” is not only a place to eat quality food, it’s also a nice place to enjoy a cocktail and relax.

There is a baby grand piano that is played during dinner and live Jazz during Sunday brunch.

The restaurant is decorated with a local artists’ work, which makes for a fantastic ambiance.

This is a high-end restaurant with a down to earth atmosphere.

One of the owners is almost always in house to greet you or just stop by to say hi and make sure you are enjoying your meal.

The wait staff is laid back and approachable; they treat you like a “regular” even if it’s your first time.

Blue is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion, come for a business lunch, or just hang out with friends listening to good music and eating delicious food.

So next time you can’t decide where to go for dinner, try out Blue, you will be pleasantly surprised by the fine dining flair combined with the comfortable atmosphere.
