Green makes Patriot All-America field

PHOENIX – Hunter Green represented the Blue Raiders in the 2011 Patriot All-America, a 54-hole collegiate golf tournament that was played Dec. 28 through Dec. 30 at Wigwam Golf Club in Litchfield Park, Ariz.

The field features 84 collegiate golfers from across the nation and includes 21 of the world’s top 100 ranked amateurs.

Green, a senior from Evansville, Tenn., led the Blue Raiders during the fall with a 70.1 stroke average and won the Mason Rudolph. Green’s stroke average ranks 11th nationally, and he has earned all-conference honors the past two years.

Blue Raiders sign new center

Middle Tennessee head coach Rick Stockstill announced last week the signing of Nick Nunez to a scholarship agreement.

Nunez is a center who will fill a void left by the graduation of all-conference linemen Colin Boss.

Nunez, 6-4, 275, was a 2011 All-Coast Conference selection for Hartnell College in California. Nunez helped Hartnell to an 8-3 record this past season and a Coast Conference and Southern Division championship.

“We are really excited about Nick be- cause he fills a need at our center position,” Stockstill said. “He will be able to go through spring practice and our offseason workout program. I am anxious to begin working with him.”
