Leftfielder Jordan Rorex ripped a three-run double in the sixth to propel the Blue squad to a 4-1 win over the White squad in the finale of the Blue-White Series on Sunday afternoon at Reese Smith Jr. Field.
White scored the game's first run in second when leftfielder Andrew Cash drew a bases-loaded walk and clung to the one-run lead for three innings before Blue battled back.
Blue first baseman Justin Guidry started the rally with a double off the rightfield wall and later scored on a fielding error to tie the game in the sixth. Guidry finished the day 3-for-4 and hit .600 for the weekend.
Blue's sixth-inning rally continued after rightfielder Dalton Henzman singled and White reliever Cody Tollison loaded the bases with a walk and hit batter. Rorex then cleared the bases with a two-out double to left to give Blue the 4-1 lead.
Blue relievers Nathan Foriest and Jonathan Sisco combined to retire the final six consecutive batters to cap off the weekend sweep of the White squad. Sisco earned his second save of the weekend after closing out the contest.
Blue starter Jordan Cooper tossed three innings and allowed one run on two hits, while Brandon Hall also saw an inning of shutout action. White starter Joey McClung tossed five innings of four-hit ball, while Tollison was tagged for four runs, all earned, on four hits in two innings of work.
