Just like the other days of this year’s Bonnaroo festival, the crowds seemed chill and relaxed especially Sunday enjoying the last day of their vacation from reality.

My reality is going to come too soon. Hopefully, they will have more time to recover from their “vacation” that I do.

I came to Bonnaroo Sunday specifically to see Nashville-based Madi Diaz and Neko Case (also in the band The New Pornographers). The singers featured in the slideshow are Diaz (brown hair) and Case.

I have been listening to Diaz’s EP “Ten Gun Salute” for weeks now. It is one of the best indie rock/pop/folk albums I’ve heard in a while.

Her set on the small stage was energy packed for a small packed crowd.

Later, as I waited to see Case, I got some relief from the sunshine under the guest/media hospitality tent and listened to the eclectic sounds of Andrew Bird.

Case played a low-key set only highlighted by a duet with Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.

Overall I was disappointed by my Bonnaroo experience this year. Most of the acts I saw were mellow and just didn’t mix well with the atmosphere. But maybe it is just me.

Several of my favorite artists of right now played during the festival, but their sets lacked heart. And the headliners (Phish and Bruce Springteen) weren’t my cup of tea either.

Here’s to next year.

Sooo, Bonaroo was a flop? Tough luck for all the Woodstock wannabes.

I don't think Bonnaroo was a flop at all! I had a wonderful time. The line-up was awesome - Nine Inch Nails, Al Green, Springsteen (I agree, coulda been better with him), Snoop Dogg, Jimmy Buffett, Yeah Yeah Yeah's, and on and on.

I can't wait for next year!
