Blackman (25-3), with Darius Thompson scoring a basket and a free throw with 8 seconds left beat La Vergne (19-12) by a 43-42 final score in boys basketball regional action. 

Thompson finished with 17 points while Alec McMiller had 18. Caymon Dial had 18 points for La Vergne; Charles Sutton and Thomas Hart had 10 each.

Blackman will host the loser of Bradley Central/Ootewah game while La Vergne will travel. Sectional games will be Monday night at 7 p.m. La Vergne will start at 6 p.m. Murfreesboro time.

The Blackman game will be broadcast on WGNS Radio with Bryan Barrett and Jon Dinkins.

WGNS will also have the Riverdale versus Cumberland County girls game on Saturday night from Riverdale.
