A Murfreesboro man was arrested Tuesday after being unable to convince police that the suspicious bulge in his pants was not a part of his genitalia.

Initially, Officer Palmer Gibbs reported that he stopped a vehicle for front passenger seatbelt violation on South Academy Street but soon became curious when he noticed the 32-year-old man seemed to be carrying an abnormal load.

“I asked (the man) to step out of the vehicle and he did so,” Gibbs reported in a Murfreesboro Police Department arrest report. “I asked him for consent to search his person, and he granted permission to a search.”

While patting the man down, Gibbs reportedly noticed “a bulge in his front genital area.”

“I asked (the man) to remove what he had in the front of his pants,” Gibbs reported. “The second time I asked, him to remove it, he did. (The man) removed 18 individually wrapped bags of marijuana inside one bag from his genital area.”

According to the report, the marijuana weighed approximately 24 grams.

The man was then placed into custody and transported to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center to be book on various drug charges.

When asked how much the marijuana was worth on the street, the man told Gibbs that 1 ounce, which is roughly 28 grams, sells for up to $25 each – an amount he did not say was worth being arrested on account of an unatural bulge.

My question is, does that cop look at everyone's "bulge"? And what if it was just that, a bulge? Would the person have any recourse toward the officer for touching his actual bulge?

Ahhh yes........the suspcious bulge method. Sixty percent of the time it works every time.
