Police were called to a Murfreesboro residence Thursday after a married couple got into an extremely heated argument over how the woman’s husband paid for lunch.

The altercation occurred at Woodgate Farms Apartments in the 700 block of Saint Andrews Drive, according to a Murfreesboro Police Department incident report.

“On my arrival, I made contact with the (husband) who advised that he and his wife got into an argument over whether he should have paid with a debit card or cash for lunch,” Officer Zack Ferrell reported. “(The man) advised that (his wife) told him to pack his clothes and leave the apartment.”

When the 49-year-old man began to gather his belongings, his 42-year-old wife pushed him and threw his clothes back down on the floor in an effort to prevent him from leaving – even though she had been insisting he vacate the premises.

The woman’s mother was also at the apartment when the altercation occurred and confirmed what the man told police, but she added that both parties were pushing each other during the scuffle over the husband’s clothing.

“(The) husband had a recently wrinkled shirt and a small red mark, (but) he refused to provide information on how his injury occurred,” Ferrell reported. “(The wife) had a red mark on her right elbow.”

Due to the totality of the circumstances, Ferrell reported that he was unable to determine a primary aggressor, so the husband agreed to leave the residence, at least for the night, until cooler heads prevailed.

What has the DNJ turned into now? The gossip column? I think it's ridiculous that arguments between married couples make the news, especially stupid ones like this, when there is so much more important news out there to be reported. Sounds like the DNJ needs something better to do if all they can come up with is an argument over who pays for lunch.

Umm--BlackHawk, you do realize this is the Murfreesboro Post website, not the DNJ, right?

He wanted to pay with his debit card because he had some errands to run and couldn't make the bank.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Murfreesboro Post pisses on the DNJ. If you are on this site and you think you are on the DNJ site, please put the crack pipe down.
