The following “bizarre” report was on file Wednesday with Murfreesboro Police.
An unidentified man and two women allegedly stole more than $200 worth of hair clippers Tuesday morning from Sally’s Beauty Supply, located in the 2000 block of South Rutherford Boulevard.
This is the second time in recent weeks that hair products have been stolen from a retailer in Murfreesboro.
A female employee told police two of the suspects distracted her in the back of the store, while the other grabbed six $35 clippers and ran out of the store, according to a Murfreesboro Police Department incident report.
Officer Robert Palmer reported after the suspects fled the scene, they apparently called the Sally’s Beauty Supply on Memorial Boulevard asking if the items could be returned for cash.
The complainant vaguely described one suspect “as a heavy set, white female with short, shaggy hair,” referring to the woman who grabbed the clippers.
However, the employee was able to provide a detailed description of the other two suspects.
The slender black male suspect, believed to be in his mid-40s, is described as being 6 feet tall and had a gray patch of hair on the crown of his head.
The second white female suspect is described as being in her early-40s, 5 feet 8 inches tall, and she had blonde and gray hair that was pulled back in a ponytail. At the time of the incident, she was wearing a striped shirt and blue jean shorts.
As of Friday, no arrests or charges had been filed in the case, and the matter remains under investigation.
