The following “bizarre” report was on file last week with the Murfreesboro Police Department.
A 25-year-old Murfreesboro man currently on probation for domestic assault is accused of striking his girlfriend in the face with a slice of pizza because he did not want to share the food with her children.
When Officer Albert Miles responded Feb. 24 to the 400 block of East Vine Street, he discovered the living room sofa and adjacent walls were covered in pizza, according to a Murfreesboro Police Department domestic violence report.
“(The woman) advised that she and (the man) got into a verbal altercation because he would not share the pizza with her or the children,” Miles reported. “(She) also advised during the altercation (he) became irate and struck her in the face with the rest of the pizza.”
Although the man initially tried to tell police he had been assaulted, Miles reported the woman’s “face was covered in pizza sauce and her left eye was beginning to swell.”
Miles determined the man was the primary aggressor, at which point he was taken into custody and transported to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
