The following “bizarre” reports were on file last week with Murfreesboro Police.
Neighbors tackled a burglary suspect and detained him until sheriff’s deputies arrived about 4:30 p.m. Monday near Lascassas, a deputy reported.
The victim and his neighbor returned home and saw a man running from the victim’s home, Deputy Will Pinson reported.
“(She) said that he fell down as he ran so she said that she exited her vehicle and attempted to restrain him but he tried to punch her,” Pinson reported. “(She) said that she responded by punching and then tackling him in a field.”
Another neighbor also chased the suspect.
“He said that she tackled (the robber) and the two of them held him until help arrived,” Pinson reported.
Pinson placed suspect Marcel A. Jefferson, 18, of Greenland Drive, into custody.
The victim’s wife told Pinson she arrived home and noticed her dog that stayed inside was running outside. She saw two men who were not Jefferson running from her home and fled in a white Pontiac.
Once released from MTMC, Jefferson was charged with aggravated burglary and booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center where he is being held on $100,000 bond. A hearing is set March 12 in General Sessions Court. |
