The following “bizarre” reports were on file last week with Murfreesboro Police.
A Murfreesboro woman reported Wednesday someone wrote a letter claiming she was having an affair with a married man in Nashville – an accusation she did not deny when she filed the complaint as a matter of record with police.
However, the woman said she did not mail the letter to the man’s wife, who apparently contacted her about the accusations.
The woman told police she was concerned because the return address on the envelope had been filled out with her contact information, according to a Murfreesboro Police Department incident report filed by Officer Daniel Parkhurst.
“The letter had (the woman’s) home address and phone number on it,” Parkhurst reported. “(She) stated she is not worried about the (wife) but wants to know who sent the letter due to the letter having (her) address and phone number.”
The woman told Parkhurst she had no idea who would have made such a claim, but she wanted to document the incident for future reference if needed, according to the report.
