Bizarre behavior in the ‘Boro

The following “bizarre” report was on file last week with Murfreesboro Police.

Police found a woman with severe lacerations on the back of her head early Thursday morning, Sept. 2, at 2474 Halls Hill Pike.

Gerelldine Carney, 34, told Murfreesboro Police Officer Daniel Love that she accepted a ride home from a white man in a truck at Jr.’s Foodland, on East Main Street.

She said that on the way back, she felt something “beating on the back of her head.” She allegedly jumped out of the truck at low speed when it got to Halls Hill Pike.

Chris Strickland, 38, discovered Carney on the side of the road in the fetal position. When he approached her, she jumped up and asked for a cigarette.

Carney was taken by ambulance to the emergency room where she was treated for her injuries.
