The following “bizarre” report was on file this week with Murfreesboro Police Department.

Julie Annette Cox, 37, of Falling Tree Court, was charged with simple possession of cocaine and tampering with evidence after Officer Brad Premo stopped her for driving without headlights about 12:03 a.m. Sunday.

Premo reported he spotted Cox earlier circling through East State Street and Reid Avenue, known as a drug activity area. While speaking to her, the officer asked Cox to open her mouth.

“I observed a white substance that appeared to be crack cocaine on her tongue,” Premo reported. “I told Ms. Cox to spit the substance out, at which time she started to chew and swallow. I managed to retrieve a small amount of the substance from Ms. Cox’s mouth.”

The substance tested positive for cocaine, he reported. She was taken to Middle Tennessee Medical Center and later booked into the jail.
