Betty Jean Thomas Hendrick

Betty Jean Thomas Hendrick age 76 of Murfreesboro, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday January 11, 2014. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Christine Walden Thomas. She is also preceded in death by sister; Barbara Ann Thomas, and a brother; Ronnie Thomas.

Funeral service will be 10:00am Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Dr. Eugene Cotey and Pastor Noel Schoonmaker officiating. Burial will follow in Cothran Cemetery with Dr. John Dixon, Dr. Steve Embry, Gary Eakes, Bob Verbal, Charlie Thomas, Jason Thomas, Jim Thomas, and Kurt Wooten serving as pallbearers. Honary pallbearers will be Jean Cotey, Pam Pilote, Jonella Prince, Nall Halton, Clara Todd, and Betty Bradbury.

Mrs. Hendrick was survived by her husband of 53 years; Dick Hendrick, her children; daughter Lora Hendrick of Donelson, Rick Hendrick and his wife Sandra of Murfreesboro, Mike Hendrick of Murfreesboro, grandson Austin Hendrick, brother Jim Thomas and his wife Beverly of Murfreesboro, and sister-in-law Pat Thomas of Murfreesboro.

Mrs. Hendrick was a member of First Baptist Church. She graduated at the top of her class at Donelson High School, and at TPI (Tennessee Tech). She loved animals and worked for Brogli, Miller, and Lane Animal Clinic for eight years. She also loved to attend the Lady Raiders Basketball games and attending her Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00pm Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tennessee Oncology, 300 20th Avenue North, Suite 301, Nashville, Tennessee 37203. On line condolence may be made to www.woodfinchapel.com 893-5151.
