Kappa Delta sorority wants the community to help prevent child abuse and eat some of the best chicken wings in the county at the 6th annual Wing Fling.

The 6th annual Wing Fling will take place Saturday, April 18 on the MTSU Campus. It is where local restaurants and student organizations compete for the “Best Wings in the Boro.”

There are many other festivities going on throughout the day including: a silent auction, children games, and even a wing-eating contest. Funds raised will be used to support organizations that combat child abuse with 80 percent of the money going to the Murfreesboro Exchange Club Family Center, a private, nonprofit child abuse prevention center serving Rutherford County.

The remaining 20 percent will be sent to Prevent Child Abuse America, an organization with chapters in 39 states that strives to build awareness, provide education and inspire hope to everyone involved in the effort to prevent child abuse and neglect.

To raise money for Prevent Child Abuse America, the Delta Pi chapter of KD started an annual event called ‘Wing Fling,’ where Kappa Delta members raise money through corporate sponsorships, silent auction bids and ticket sales.
