How pre-kindergarten programs fight crime will be the topic discussed by a local law enforcement officer Wednesday at Stewartsboro Elementary School.
Smyrna Chief of Police Kevin Arnold and “FIGHT CRIME: INVEST IN KIDS TENNESSEE” State Director Mark Rogers will visit the school to discuss the benefits of Tennessee’s pre-K program, focusing on its crime-prevention aspects.
The event will explain how the program helps children improve academically, graduate from high school and reduce crime in our communities.
While at the school, Arnold will read “Office Buckle and Gloria” by Peggy Rathmann.
“Fight Crime: Invest in Kids Tennessee,” is a statewide, bipartisan, nonprofit, anti-crime organization. The national organization has a membership of more than 3,000 police chiefs, sheriffs, prosecutors, other law enforcement leaders and violence survivors.
