Bass tournament to benefit La Vergne Police

The second annual Officer Benefit Bass Tournament, sponsored by the Percy Priest Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 85 has been moved to July 11th from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., launching from Fate Sanders Marina in Smyrna. The tournament is open to the public.
Early registration is June 1 - July 2 from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the La Vergne Police Department, behind City Hall at 5093 Murfreesboro Road in La Vergne. Late registration takes place July 11th from 4:30 - 5:30 a.m. (a $5 late fee will apply). The entry fee is $50 per boat and $20 for the Big Large/Small mouth pot.

The tournament is held each year to raise funds, food, gifts, etc. for officers who are on light duty or home restrictions. Sgt. Davis said they are looking for sponsors for those items and more for this year's event. Currently, there are four La Vergne Police Department officers on light duty or home restrictions.
