Senior James Washington has received First Team All-District honors as announced by the National Association of Basketball Coaches on Wednesday. Washington, who received Second Team All-Sun Belt honors, ended the 2010-11 season averaging 14 points per game. The St. Louis, Mo., native also led the team in free throw percentage (86.4), points (449), and assists per game (2.8). “This is a really nice honor for James. It is indicative of a solid senior year and he is included with a group of very talented players from District 24,” head coach Kermit Davis said. Also named to the NABC All-District 24 First Team were Sergio Kerusch (Western Kentucky), Raymond Tayor (Florida Atlantic), Tristan Thompson (North Texas) and Solomon Bozeman (UALR). Middle Tennessee ended the season 16-16 and advanced to the semifinals of the Sun Belt Championships. |
