Bandits beat a resident, robbed him of more than $1,000 and bound him and his roommate about midnight Friday at his home off South Church Street, Murfreesboro Police reported.

Victim David Flinn III, 38, of Lilly Lane was found lying on the open front doorway of his home, Officer Cody Ciazza reported. He suffered major injuries to his head and face. He was treated at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.

Flinn told Ciazza four men wearing hoodies and blue jeans robbed him and restrained him with some kind of tape. Roommate Stanley Wise was restrained as well.

“The suspects then began to demand money and made threats to kill the victim with a rifle and bat that were on scene,” Ciazza reported. “The victim stated then that the suspects began to strike him repeatedly with the bat and fled in a white four-door Buick or Cadillac.”

One of the suspects and Flinn may have had past drug dealings together, the officer said.

Officer Brandon Benge talked to Wise who was in his bedroom when the bandits kicked in the door, approached him and hit him with a gun.

“Wise then stated that his hands and feet were taped together and he was put in the back room and left there alone,” Benge reported.

He managed to free himself and escaped out a window.

A neighbor saw the men running to the car, heard Flinn’s call for help and called 911.

Possible names of suspects were given to police.

A "suspect" saw the men running to the car, heard Flinn's call for help and called 911. Why in the world would a suspect call 911?

THE ONLY JUSTICE FOR THE USELESS PIECES OF GARBAGE SHOULD AFTER CONVICTION HAVE THEIR EYES REMOVED TRANSPORTED TO THE DESERT SOUTHWEST AND LEFT TO ROT.

ANYONE OBJECTING ARE JUST AS GUILTY AND SHOULD FACE THE SAME JUSTICE.

"...and bound he and his roommate..."

This is as bad as the suspect making the call. I don't want to sound picky about grammar, but I would expect a "newspaper" to do better than this.

Who wrote this?

Reads like the police report was copied verbatim. ...insert sarcasm smiley here...
