One bandit armed with a handgun escaped with about $500 worth of painkillers during a holdup Tuesday night at CVS Pharmacy on Southeast Broad Street, Murfreesboro Police reported.

The suspect escaped with about 1,000 hydrocodone pills valued at $501 from the drug store, Officer Mark Moghaddam reported.

Witnesses described the suspect as a white man about 5-foot-8 and weighing about 160 pounds. He wore dark blue jeans, a black shirt and a red bandana over his face. He carried a silver handgun.

In an unrelated case, Officer Brad Premo reported suspects fired 40 rounds during a party at the rented Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors building early Monday on Butler Drive.

“The identity of the shooters is unknown, however, one of the shooters struck a black female juvenile with his vehicle while fleeing the scene,” Premo reported.

It was unknown if anyone suffered gunshot wounds from the shooting, he reported.

Detective Richard Presley collected 32 9mm shell casings and six .25-caliber shell casings.

People who have information about the crimes are asked to call the Criminal Investigations Division at 893-2717 or Crime Stoppers at 893-STOP between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Bandit??? How about armed robber instead. Bandit sounds like a wayward child or dog.
