Aaron Jordan Jr. is anticipating the summer release of his upcoming relationship book, “The Power Within, A Woman’s Worth: From Both Sexes.”

Inside the pages is an in-depth look at dating and the reasons why relationships turn out good or bad.

“One of the most talked about topics in the world today is dating and relationships,” Jordan said. “The book depicts real life situations and helps people to understand why we are the way we are mentally in dating.”

Jordan was born and raised in Memphis. During his senior year at Whitehaven High School, Jordan said he began to write poetry and developed a love for writing. He graduated from high school in 2002 and received a bachelor’s degree in marketing July 2012 from The University of Phoenix.

Jordan said he had been thinking about writing a book for five years. Last summer, he moved to Murfreesboro and decided to put his thoughts down on paper.

“In January of this year, I built up the courage to put my thoughts, analogies, philosophies and observations in print," he said, "and it came out to be something epic."

Jordan’s years in the dating pool and his experiences provided inspiration for his book. He also witnessed both the failed and successful relationships of those around him, he noted.

“It made me begin to become observant,” he explained. “I’ve learned how a woman would fall for what we call ‘game’ or how a man would approach a woman.”

Throughout the chapters of the book, Jordan tackles different aspects of relationships.

For example, one such chapter deals with what Jordan calls “30 minute love.” This kind of love is the sensation of feeling good for the moment.

“People now in the 21st century love that instant gratification," he said. "They love for people to make them feel good for the moment."

Jordan said people, especially women, would often approach him and ask for his advice if they were having relationship problems.

“They would say, ‘You’re a man. What would you do in this situation?’ or ‘What is he thinking?’” he said.

As he worked on the book, Jordan said he talked to many women and came to the realization: Women love to hear the opinions of men.

Though women are generally quicker to pick up dating books, Jordan said he knows that men read them too. As a result, he hopes the book will certainly solve many of the confusing mysteries between the sexes.

“Some men will be reading to see if I’m revealing their big secrets,” Jordan said with a laugh. “The target audience is anybody. The book is unbiased. It can appeal to anyone. People can relate to it and draw themselves in the book.”

“The Power Within, A Woman’s Worth: From Both Sexes,” is scheduled for release this summer.

The book will also be available for e-book readers and on paperback.
