Audrey Best Archibald of Fort Pierce, Florida died Thursday, February 4, 2010 at
the age of 100 at the Community Care Nursing Home of Rutherford County. Her
death was the result of complications from a fall during a visit to family in
Murfreesboro during the Christmas 2009 holiday.

She was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1909, moved to Morocco, Indiana
as a child and lived there much of her life. She married Theodore L. Archibald
from Morocco in 1930 and lived in Arlington Heights, Illinois where they had two
children. Son, David Archibald died in 1951, and daughter Marilynn Kay
Archibald Green died in 1997. She and her husband, Ted had been married for
67 years upon his passing, also in 1997. She is also preceded in death by a
brother, Reginald Best and a sister, Imogene Best Vanderwall.

She is survived by four grandchildren, Linda Munch, Plymouth, Minnesota; David
Green, Houston, Texas; Betsy Taylor, Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and, Karen
Cook, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, who are the children of Marilynn Archibald
Green and Robert Green. Also surviving her are ten great grandchildren and
many nieces and nephews in Indiana and Wisconsin.

Mrs. Archibald worked for a short period during World War II, and was a devoted
mother and housewife her entire time. Upon their retirement in 1963, the
Archibald's traveled the country, and developed a love of painting landscapes
and vistas in many of the nation's parks. They would winter at their residence in
Homestead, Florida, eventually moving there permanently until 1992 when their
home was destroyed by Hurricane Andrew. They then relocated to Fort Pierce,
Florida.

Mrs. Archibald was a devoted and longtime member of the Midway Road Church
of Christ in Fort Pierce, and attended the Northfield Church of Christ when
visiting family in the Murfreesboro area.

A memorial service is being planned for Saturday, February 20, 2010, at
11:00am at the Midway Road Church of Christ in Fort Pierce, Florida. Minister
Don McBrayer will be officiating. Cremation and other arrangements have been
handled by Woodfin Memorial Chapel. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a
donation be made to Midway Road Church of Christ, 3040 W. Midway Rd., Fort
Pierce, FL 34981.
