Auditions for the play “Everyday Heroes” will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23rd at The Murfreesboro Little Theatre.
“Everyday Heroes” is several stories of the trials and joys in the lives of the regulars at Hero's Bar & Grill, said playwright Tony Lehew of Murfreesboro.
It is an ensemble cast and will be performed in an interactive environment. Bryan Booth will direct the play.
There will be 11 parts to cast for this play and all actors will receive compensation for their performances. 4 women, ages late 20's to early 40's and 7 men, ages late 20's to mid 50's will be cast. Women should be prepared to sing unaccompanied a blues or classic rock tune.
The show will take place in and around the audience. At times, cast members will speak and react directly to audience members.
“This will be a chance to really stretch your acting skills,” Lehew said.
If needed, an additional audition will be Jan. 30. The location for that audition has not been decided as of this writing.
“Everyday Heroes” will have four performances at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. April 17 and 18 at Liquid Smoke, a smoker's lounge located on the north side of the public square.
There may be additional performances at other locations in the near future. These plans will be discussed during auditions.
This performance will be unique in both performance and environment. This will be first time a play has been performed at this club and the first time “Everyday Heroes” will be performed outside the theatre.
