Tuesday, May 11, officers responded to an apartment at 600 Dusan Blvd. in Murfreesboro on the report of a domestic assault.

When officers arrived they discovered the alleged victim, Brittany Malone, spitting up, gagging, crying and throwing up.

Malone, who has asthma and is pregnant, said her mother, Lanika Malone, had come by her home to go to a graduation ceremony. Brittany Malone told officers that Lanika Malone was upset because Brittany Malone has a 10-week-old daughter and is currently pregnant by a man her mother does not like.

Malone told officers her mother told her that she was going to “knock that (expletive) out of you,” referring to her pregnancy. Lanika allegedly proceeded to hit Brittany in the head knocking off her glasses.

After falling on the couch, Lanika Malone allegedly grabbed Brittany Malone around the neck with both hands before leaving when told that the police were being called. Brittany Malone refused to go to the hospital by ambulance but informed officers that she would go with a friend to be checked out.

Wednesday, May 12, officers responded to a DUI a suspected vehicle that had been pulled over after striking a stop sign.

Officers identified Brittany Hood of Murfreesboro as the vehicle’s driver. Hood told officers that she did not know why she hit the sigh and that she had trouble seeing at night.

Hood was unable to complete a field sobriety test and refused to submit a blood alcohol test. Upon a search of Hood’s person officers discovered a baggie of marijuana in the suspect’s bra. Hood was driving on a suspended license and was taken into police custody.

Officers responded to a traffic incident on Monday, May 10, at about 6 p.m. after a vehicle hit a stop sign at the intersection of N. Academy Street and Elm Street in Murfreesboro.

Upon arrival officers found the driver, J.C. Howard, lying on Elm Street with the door of the vehicle left open. Officers reported that Howard had soiled his pants before their arrival. The keys to the vehicle were found inside of Howard's pant pocket.

Howard was taken to the Veterans Affairs hospital after deemed unable to perform a field sobriety test. Little damage was done to either the stop sign or Howard’s vehicle.

A vehicle was stopped Thursday, May 13, after an officer observed the vehicle driving north in the southbound lane on N. Thompson Lane in Murfreesboro.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jasmine Hedgepath. After failing to complete a series of field sobriety tests Hedgepath was placed under arrest on suspicion of DUI.

Hedgepath stated that she had consumed a few bears and agreed to sumbit to a blood test.

Police responded to 302 S. Church Street in Murfreesboro after receiving an aggravated assault call Wednesday, May 12.

Carl Wood informed officers that he had delivered sheet rock to a customer, Davis Criswell, at 914 E. Castle Street.

Wood told officers that Criswell wanted him to go beyond what his job description was and so he called his supervisor to get permission. Wood said that while he was on the phone Criswell became increasingly angry and began to cuss, telling him to, “get your (expletive) back in the (expletive) truck.”

Going ahead with his job, Wood had Criswell sign off on the delivery ticket as he allegedly continued to cuss at him.

Upon attempting to leave the residence, Wood told officers that Criswell lifted his shirt and showed a black handgun in his waistband, but Wood said that no threat was made to use the weapon.

I would like to know whatever happened to proof reading articles before they got published? It's not just the MP, but seriously guys...
1. "she had consumed a few bears"- really? kodiak or grizzly?
2. "agreed to sumbit to a blood test"- c'mon, spell check pops right up on that one.
And no, I don't always type/spell everything correctly. But, then again, I'm not producing a printed product.

"The Post" should be named "The Past" because it's newsworthiness is history. Oh, and don't forget "sigh" for "sign" on misspellings.

I'm not sure I could pass a field sobriety test after consuming a few bears-- unless they were Gummi.

I like hearing about this stuff. I don't think it's "past". At least we have someone to update us on what's going on in our neighborhoods instead of reporting what's going on half way across the country. GREAT JOB JONATHAN! Keep up the good work.
