Winning $1,000 is not a bad way to start the New Year.

That’s exactly how Murfreesboro resident and recent MTSU graduate Chelsey Montgomery is beginning 2014, thanks to her Go youth account from Ascend Federal Credit Union.

Young adults age 18-24 with a Go account are automatically entered into an annual drawing for $1,000 if they meet certain criteria, including using their checking account and receiving e-statements rather than paper statements.

“Congratulations to Miss Montgomery for being our 2013 Go youth account winner,” Ascend President and CEO Caren Gabriel said. “Ascend’s youth accounts provide a great opportunity for us to fulfill our brand promise of educating and helping our members become effective financial stewards.”

Along with the Go account, Ascend offers the Discover account for children age 12 and younger and the Venture account for teens 13-17.

In Murfreesboro Ascend Federal Credit Union has a financial center on 1250 W. Clark Blvd., on 750 S. Church St. and on 4051 Franklin Road. In Smyrna a financial center is located on 769 Nissan Drive. Federally insured by the NCUA, membership is limited.
