Angry ex crosses line

Officers arrived at 425 Warrior Drive, apartment K-137, Monday, June 21, after receiving a call informing them something may be wrong.

Keith Jamison told officers he had called with Trina Woods, who was crying, and was unable to communicate with her before the phone was disconnected.

Upon arrival, officers heard a female yelling and crying. Police were able to see a man holding Woods down as she tried to get up.

After knocking loudly several times with no response, officers forced entry to the apartment through the front door.

Police identified the man holding Woods down as Tony Patterson and also noted that another male, David Johnson, was in the room.

Woods said Patterson, her ex-boyfriend, had stolen her cell phone earlier in the day. When he arrived to return the phone he allegedly forced his way past her, grabbed her by the throat and forced her into the bedroom where he held her down.

She told police Johnson entered the residence in an attempt to calm Patterson down, but Patterson only let up when officers began to kick in the door.

Patterson said that he came by only to talk and Johnson entered because the conversation had lasted a long time. Johnson told officers he calmed Patterson down because he was upset, but nothing else happened.

Officers placed Patterson under arrest on suspicion of assault and false imprisonment.
