Americana Honors & Awards announces performers

The Americana Honors & Awards ceremony will take place Thursday, Sept. 9 at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and tickets will go on sale Saturday, July 24.

Confirmed performers for the event include Emmylou Harris, The Avett Brothers, Rodney Crowell, Wanda Jackson, Rosanne Cash, Patty Griffin, Sam Bush, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Ryan Bingham, Corb Lund, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Joe Pug and Will Kimbrough.

Jim Lauderdale will continue as master of ceremonies and will be joined for another year by Buddy Miller and his all-star house band.

Individual tickets are $55 and will be available online through Ticketmaster and the Ryman’s website as well as the Americana Music Online Store. Tickets are are also availabe at the Ryman box office.

The Americana Music Association’s upcoming 2010 Americana Music Festival announced a string of performers, which will take place Wednesday, Sept. 8 through Saturday, Sept. 11.

The nighttime festival is open to the public.

For $50, wristbands may be purchased now at www.americanamusic.org or by calling the AMA office at 615-386-6936.

Wristbands are good for admission to all venues during the four-day event.

Confirmed artists include Black Lillies, Cadillac Sky, Cherryholmes, Charlie Louvin, Raul Malo, Chuck Mead, Over the Rhine, Stone River Boys and Abigail Washburn.
