Alysha Clark, former Middle Tennessee women's basketball All-American, will depart Friday for the Middle East to resume her professional career in Israel.

Clark, a December 2009 graduate and one of five seniors on the 2009-10 Blue Raider squad, is the latest player from the program to continue playing after her collegiate days are over.

The Mt. Juliet native will head to Israel where she will compete in the Israeli First League for the team Hapoel Rishon LeZion.

She completed her Middle Tennessee career as one of the most prolific players in school history, becoming the only player to receive All-America honors in more than one season after leading the country in scoring in 2008-09 and 2009-10. Seven different organizations recognized her with All-America accolades after this past year when she set a school and Sun Belt record by averaging 28.5 ppg on her way to being selected 17th overall by the San Antonio Silver Stars in April's WNBA Draft.

Clark's remarkable season helped the Blue Raiders post a 25-6 record, win the Sun Belt Tournament title and advance the 13th NCAA Tournament in program history. She was chosen as the league's Player of the Year in addition to being a finalist for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award and an ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-American Third Team honoree.
